The components of the Box system
"Creating systems of up to 36m² is easy with The Box by floorheater."
The Box is available in three different sizes of system - 6, 9 or 12 m² - each of which can be installed separately or combined as required to build larger systems of up to 36 m².
But The Box's flexibility doesn't end there... For example, say if you wish to create a mini system of 4 m², then it's just a case of ordering the 6 m² Box and simply cutting the plastic PEX water pipe to size. With The Box you can do what you want to do!
And, inside every Box by floorheater, you'll find easy to fit poly-panels, a flexible PEX water pipe with fittings, a roll of aluminium tape and an extremely easy to follow installation manual.
The panels are made of a tough poly material with a moulded groove for the pipe and a bonded 0.1mm foil coating that radiates heat with a class-beating maximum efficiency.
Panels can be easily glued, screwed or nailed down to the floor surface as required.

Panels
The panels are available in two different thicknesses: 12mm and 20mm:

Also supplied with The Box system is a wall thermostat control and a high quality pump that creates the warm-water circulation through the system's pipe, to heat the floor above.
Please note that although the pump and mixing unit is part of the system, it is not delivered inside the actual Boxes since you can combine up to three boxes per pump and mixing unit.

The pump
The pump can be connected to the hot-water piping that originally served a radiator. And, for connection of the pump to a combined number of Box kits, double and triple outlet manifolds are available.

Triple outlet manifolds
Thermostat option.
The pump supplied with each system comes with a standard wire-connected thermostat. However, if so desired, you can upgrade this to a wireless thermostat.

Panel glue.
The Box's panels can be glued, nailed, screwed or stapled to any kind of existing floor. However, where you are planning to lay tiles on top of the system, then you must use glue to fix the panels down. floorheater recommends a particular floor glue for doing this.

"Laybond L73" water-based panel glue.
Special adhesive for gluing tiles down onto the system panels.
You can lay tiles directly on top of the system - providing they are larger than 150 x 150mm – but, again, you must use a special tile adhesive to fix them down.

Tile adhesive: Mapei Kerabond together with Mapei Isolastic.
